On May 6, SREA - in partnership with the Advanced Power Alliance - led a delegation of members to the Louisiana State Capitol for our 2025 Lobby Day.
Members of our industry were fortunate to visit with both Senate President Cameron Henry (R-Metairie) and Speaker Phillip DeVillier (R-Eunice) where we discussed the need for pro-business, pro-energy legislation, and talked about how Louisiana can play a vital role in ensuring America’s future Energy Dominance. Our coalition was also recognized by resolutions in both the House and Senate Chambers where we were able to engage members directly on House Bill 615 and other measures being considered in the Louisiana Legislature.

We were fortunate to host Public Service Commissioners JP Coussan (R-District 2) and Davante Lewis (D-District 3) for lunch at The City Club of Baton Rouge. Comm. Coussan is rapidly getting up to speed on Commission issues, and he and Commissioner Lewis both expressed a great desire to work with our industry as they move through work on the Public Service Commission.

That evening we hosted another successful Joint Natural Resources Committee Dinner, where we had close to 20 legislators, PSC Commissioner Davante Lewis, Governor Jeff Landry’s Chief Resilience Officer Stephen Swiber, Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Tyler Bosworth, and others staff in attendance. Our significant showing in Louisiana is extremely vital to ongoing legislative and regulatory engagement. This dinner continues to grow each year, and we greatly appreciate those who were able to join us!
